    Summer Strategy Internship Program

    USAC administers the $10 billion Universal Service Fund, which the FCC created to address serious gaps in needed coverage.

    We deliver funds through four programs (E-rate, Lifeline, Rural Healthcare and High Cost), to people and places who need it most – rural, hard-to-reach communities, low income households and schools and libraries who need access to facilitate learning.     We are looking for a MBA degree-seeking individual to join our organization as a Strategy Intern starting June 3rd, 2019. (32 hours per week)

    If you are interested in working in a creative and fast-paced environment, our USAC MBA Summer Internship program may be of interest to you. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter, enjoys collaborating with teammates, yet able to work independently to get the job done. The MBA intern will be part of USAC’s Strategy & Risk Management team within the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO).

    Responsibilities

    Your Role

    • Conduct strategic problem solving, data and risk analysis, and project management activities supporting USAC’s Corporate initiatives
    • Collaborate effectively with program and business unit stakeholders at multiple levels across the organization
    • Analysis of business processes to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiencies
    • Lead, manage, and execute an end-to-end strategic enterprise business project
    • Present findings to leadership audiences across divisions
    • Refine and improve enterprise risk management initiatives
    • Support Strategy & Risk Management team with other ad-hoc deliverables, such as document reviews, presentation prep materials, template development, etc.

    About You

    • Ability to actively collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team as well as work independently as appropriate
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with a general understanding of data analysis techniques
    • A motivated self-starter that thrives in a fast-paced environment
    • Interest in business strategy, enterprise risk management, project management in an effort to furthering organizational strategic goals, including but not limited to business process improvements
    • Experience with leading, co-leading, or serving as a key contributor for one or more strategic projects
    • Strong analytical, problem solving, critical thinking, and quantitative abilities with excellent written and verbal communications
    • Require limited oversight on work requests and create high-quality deliverables
    • Flexibility and willingness to navigate a constantly changing landscape
    • You are agile at working across other departments
    • Currently seeking your MBA from an accredited college
