Job Purpose:
Operate various sizes and tonnages of coil-fed punch presses. Utilizing proper tools for quality control and inspection.
Essential Duties and/or Responsibilities:
Operate punch presses in which a progressive or compound die is used to create metal parts
Work from blueprints or customer requests as required
Set/adjust die, knock-out, ejecting and safety device, roll, dial or magazine feeds
Examine work visually or by using template, sample or fixed gauges
Load work-pieces into machines
Assist with set up or removal of dies after production is complete
Start machines and monitor their operations
Must wear protective gear at all times
Ensure all safety and environmental regulations and procedures are complied with
Learn and train on various production machines as needed
Qualifications:
Ability to read/write simple blueprints and/or specifications
Mechanical aptitude and ability
Use of basic inspection tools
Lift up to 50lbs
Ability to stand 8-12 hour shifts
Experience and Education:
Six to twelve months of production machine operation experience
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Must comprehend simple blueprints and/or specifications
Operation of production press machines
Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and procedures
