Calibr, a division of Scripps Research is a not-for profit research institute located in La Jolla, California. Calibr is focused on innovative early stage translational research in the areas of regenerative medicine, cancer biology, cardiovascular and metabolic disease, immunology and infectious disease.

Position Overview:
The Calibr neglected tropical disease team is seeking a highly motivated individual to integrate into a team environment to support multiple drug discovery programs. Under this role, the ideal candidate will work with other team members to support the execution of key high-throughput assays, maintain cell culture lines, and assist with additional projects as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
*Perform general lab duties (including making cell culture media)
*Maintain mammalian cell cultures
*Maintain cell cultures of BSL2 pathogens (e.g. Plasmodium falciparum)
*Assist with high-throughput assays against select BSL2 pathogens

Physical Requirements:

This position works in a laboratory or vivarium environment. Further details of the physical requirements of established essential functions for this position will be addressed/discussed during the interview process.
Basic Qualifications:

Qualifications and Experience:
*Currently pursuing a Bachelors of Science in biology, biochemistry, microbiology or a related focus
*0-3 years laboratory experience
*Letter of recommendation and/or at least one professional reference is highly preferred
