Our client in Oak Creek is seeking a Junior Drafter!

Description:

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Constructs full scale drawings of specific die sets or steel plates that are required by the customer.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: High school plus technical coursework in drafting.
• Experience: Two(2) years mechanical drafting in a manufacturing environment.

Essential Job Duties

• Prepares detail drawings of die sets, weldments and torch cuts to scale.
• Calculates dimensions and specific standard allowances when not specified.
• Alters detail and layout drawings to conform to engineering changes.
• Generates and approves bills of material for projects being drafted.
• Checks work orders entering the department before forwarding to the cutting area.
• Maintains files, documentation and record keeping related to drafting projects.

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

• Solid basic mathematical skills including decimals, percentages, fractions, geometry, trigonometry
• Applied knowledge of the metric system.
• Mechanical drafting training and experience.
• Proficiency with personal computers and related programs such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD and basic drafting languages.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
• Strong interpersonal skills in a team based environment.
• Problem solving and decision making skills. Proven ability to anticipate and correct potential issues in advance.
