POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will assist in developing the technical architecture and framework for law firm applications to support business objectives.
From an Operational perspective, the candidate must have architecture and development skills and be able to communicate with end- users. They will independently analyze business problems and operational data from one or more sources to formulate solutions of moderate to significant complexity. Additionally, they are responsible for identifying various application alternatives and analyze new applications with a high degree of complexity and scope. This role may involve design outside of the candidate’s subject matter expertise; therefore, they should be able to research processes and programs never seen before. The candidate must have the ability to provide second and third level technical support for applications.
From a Vendor Management perspective, the candidate must work with application vendors to analyze a given problem, diagnose, and find its root cause to correct and restore services, assist reviewing any application contracts or invoices, and be able to work well with virtual teams.
From a Project Management Office (PMO) perspective, the candidate must be able to assist in all aspects of the project lifecycle: initiation, planning, implementation and closure. Additionally, they will be responsible for completing project tasks and deliverables on time. Time management skills are critical in order to prioritize your daily work load.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Convert business requirements/specifications and procedures of significant complexity into application and program solutions
Write and communicate moderately complex program specifications with business users
Provide level 1, 2, and 3 support for applications in area of responsibility
Create custom reports using various tools for applications
Responsible for system updates
Develop and keep current, documentation regarding system setup, configuration and troubleshooting
As application owner of our software inventory serve as primary point of contact for:
Help Desk Escalations
Vendor Communications
Develop and implement vendor partnerships that deliver projects, support and strategic initiatives for the applications
Review Help Desk log to insure that any outstanding help desk issues are dispatched and resolved in a timely manner
Complete tasks and deliverables for PMO projects.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology
8+ years of progressive IT experience, 2 years specifically within a law firm preferred
5+ years Windows server experience, specifically with setting up and configuring application services
Advanced experience with the following: Microsoft Office skills, SQL, MS SharePoint Design, MS SCCM software installation packages, MS Group Policy
