Job Responsibilities: Waukesha State Bank’s Mortgage Consultants are responsible for the origination of residential loan applications through outside solicitation as well as the expansion and enrichment of current relationships with bank customers. Typical duties include but are not limited to:
 
  • Proactively soliciting new residential mortgage business by continually identifying, developing, and maintaining a quality network of business relationships that serve as a recurring source of referrals for new mortgage lending opportunities
  • Attending social events to promote yourself and raise awareness of WSB’s products and services
  • Working with branch personnel to create top of mind awareness to cross-sell mortgage products
  • Meeting or exceeding monthly and annual mortgage production goals
  • Proactively seeking opportunities to cross-sell and/or make referrals of WSB products and services
  • Managing personal expense budget to get the most promotional value
  • Meeting with customers to review and analyze credit and financial data, present appropriate WSB products and programs and explain guidelines
  • Taking loan applications and working closely with underwriting and processing staff and customers throughout the mortgage loan process to ensure loans are closed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Staying current on WSB’s many borrowing programs and departmental processes
  • Learning and utilizing WSB’s various software programs and systems
  • Maintaining awareness of and adhering to all regulatory laws and rules applicable to the banking and mortgage industries
 Job Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years of 1-4 family 1st mortgage FNMA residential origination experience
  • Demonstrated success in achieving sales goals and building quality referral relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and to travel frequently within WSB’s primary lending communities (at least 30% of time spent outside your “home base” is expected)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Accuracy and attention-to-detail
  • Spanish fluency is a strong plus!
  • Knowledge of mortgage products and programs such as WHEDA, FHA, VA, UDSA, Construction, Lot loans portfolio products is strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office & exposure to LOS lending software is beneficial
  • Desire to work in a community bank and represent WSB in a professional and ethical manner at all times
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain an active NMLS Registry Record
