Position Summary:

The porter assumes the responsibility for the cleaning and moving of items in the kitchen and storerooms.  Responsibilities also include the dishes and dishwashers so that the facility has a good supply of clean dishes at all times.

Essential Duties:
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

• Cleans kitchen floors, counter tops, equipment coolers and sinks on a routine basis and as needed
• Sweeps and mops kitchen daily or more often as needed
• Takes out trash, breaks down boxes, removes recycling
• Operates dish machines and performs routing cleaning
• Cleans soiled pots and pans, scrapes and washes
• Receives and checks in food items and other supplies as needed
• Communicates with supervisor throughout the shift
• Follows infection control procedures at all times.  Utilizes personal protective equipment when indicated
• Ensures that food handling procedures are in accordance with sanitation policies of the facility and the State and Federal regulatory agencies
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Education Requirement:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 1 year preferred

•  Proficiency in written and spoken English
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to manage multiple activities
