Position Description


Position Overview
Provides direct care and supervision to at-risk youth (ages 12-17) in a 8-bed group home setting. The purpose of this position is to implement and monitor a behavior management system, which is focused on decreasing aggressive/violent and inappropriate behavior while increasing positive alternative behavior.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in daily living skills
  • Social, educational and vocational guidance
  • Medication administration, basic medical care
  • Crisis intervention
  • Transportation
  • Documentation and record keeping

Per Department of Children & Families (DCF) regulation, all Youth Care Workers must complete a minimum of 24-hours of training annually (prorated first year based on start date). Training is company-paid.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree from a college or university in the area of human services preferred
  • One year experience working with emotionally disturbed and behaviorally challenged youth minimal
  • Valid Wisconsin Driver's License and clean driving record REQUIRED
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and communication skills
