Position Description
Gegare Tile, a family owned and operated commercial flooring business, is seeking an experienced General Accountant/Bookkeeper.
This position will be fully responsible for performing all accounting functions from data entry through financial statements. Specifically these responsibilities include:
Accounts Payable
Accounts Receivable
Payroll, including tax deposits and reporting
Union reporting/certified payroll reports
Invoicing
General ledger - reconciling accounts to supporting documents
Assigning job numbers to new contracts & setting up in the accounting system
Intercompany transactions
Sales & use tax
Cash Management
Year end paperwork for CPA firm
Installation of accounting software upgrades
Job P&L reports
We are looking for someone experienced and confident in ALL these aspects who can hit the ground running. Familiarity with Timberline Accounting system would be helpful but training can be provided if necessary. The office staff is small so the candidate must work well with others and be flexible to step outside their job description from time to time to help out or look/ask for ways to help out when they have downtime.
Requirements:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting
At least 5 years of experience in all above listed aspects of accounting
Capable of communicating with outside accounting firm on all company financial matters
Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Professional
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Strong prioritization/time management and communication skills
Ability to carry out multiple assignments and meet scheduled deadlines
Ability to work independently with a high level of initiative
Highly detail oriented with ability to format data clearly and concisely
Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and quantitative reasoning ability
Construction accounting experience a plus but not necessary
Notary Public a plus
