Position Description
Primary responsibilities involve the following:
Perform verification and eligibility of new and existing patients
Work cooperatively with Customer Service in order to help expedite patient orders
Answer incoming calls from patients and clinicians about the insurance process using appropriate customer service skills
Coordinate special authorizations and letters of agreement with insurance companies
Review Company reimbursement policies, procedures and memoranda to make sure the comply with recent Medicare guidelines including coverage, coding and payment.
Review patient aging for collections, refunds, and write-offs
Review EOBS for denied claims
Maintain required billing records and patient insurance information according to Medicare, HIPAA and other department guidelines.
Requirements:
Must be assertive and well-organized with good computer and excellent phone, written and customer service skills with a professional attitude.
Computer/PC based application expertise including Microsoft Windows, Outlook and Word
Must contribute to a positive work climate and overall team effort within the Company.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize them and pay attention to detail.
Ability to work with little or no supervision
Participates in educational activities which may include some limited travel.
Performs other duties as assigned.
