Position Description

Tenure-track Assistant Professor of German
This position is a fulltime appointment in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature.

Native or near-native fluency in German and English, high proficiency in French or Spanish, and Ph D. in German Translation or related field by date of appointment are required.

Applicants should be able and prepared to teach German to English as well as to co-teach Spanish or French to English Translation, and non-language specific courses relevant to the Translation industry, to promote and expand the German Translation concentration in the Master's program in Foreign Language and Literature (MAFLL), and to teach courses such as Business German and German for Professional Purposes.

Successful candidates must have a proven commitment to teaching, in particular in the online format, and research and interest in outreach activities. Expertise in translation technology is highly desirable.
