Job Description

The Process Engineer will develop, evaluate, design, and optimize the manufacturing and filling processes and support continuous improvement in order to ensure reduction of manufacturing variation, increase consistency, and reduce waste. The Process Engineer will provide support to the coatings manufacturing departments of the Paint Plant. This includes all operations such as mixing, grinding, thinning, and filling of Industrial and Automotive products. The position will report to the Paint Operations Manager. *** This is an on site position.

Key Responsibilities:

* Development and improvement of manufacturing and filling recipes and process instructions.
* Design, manage and implement process changes to improve safety, reduce cycle time, reduce waste and variability.
* Process Control system management: Not Software, Process Design, Tracking, Usage, Operational Discipline, Process Instructions, etc.
* Root cause analysis for process abnormalities (Daily Management Internal and External) - Batch out of spec, abnormal batch, SSPL, process deviation, manufacturing variances, process yield lost, etc.
* Ensure product consistency through the analysis and establishment of process instructions and operational rules.
* Develop and innovate production systems through the management an execution of improvement projects.

Qualifications

* BS degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical engineering. Successful completion of one year engineering training program or Co-Op or Internship within Industry

* Minimum 2+ years Manufacturing experience in a process environment.

* PLC / VFD Guide and automated process equipment competencies.
