Mental Health Parity Analyst
POSITION SUMMARY
The Mental Health Parity Analyst will be responsible for a broad array of areas associated with compliance under The Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act. Working both independently and in collaboration with other departments, the Mental Health Parity Specialist will gather and provide the necessary information and data for successful completion of the comparative analysis for each Allied client group health plan. Additionally, the Mental Health Parity Specialist will stay updated on any changes in the law as to mental health parity, and provide feedback to both Allied's General Counsel and Senior Vice President of Risk Management, including plan design recommendations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Complete Mental Health Parity NQTL questionnaires as to Allied client group health plans.
  • Coordinate with third party/vendor partners of Allied's client group health plans to obtain appropriate documentation and reporting from these third parties to assist with completing NQTL questionnaires.
  • Provide detailed reporting documentation, including claim reports, pre-certification reporting, and turn-around time reporting related to services provided for medical/surgical benefits and MH/SUD benefits.
  • Provide status updates on clients' compliance efforts with Mental Health Parity.
  • Attend sponsored webinars addressing Mental Health Parity compliance.
  • Research and stay current with respect to Mental Health Parity legislation, regulations and guidance.
  • Prepare a summary of the results and conclusions of the comparative analyses for Clients who utilize Allied's preferred NQTL vendor.
  • Assist Allied's Client Executives/Account Managers in sharing these results and conclusions with clients.
  • Manage very detail-oriented projects with little supervision.
  • Contribute to the overall success of Allied by performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
EDUCATION,
  • Bachelor's degree or higher level of education or equivalent work experience required.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in Healthcare Compliance required.
  • Ability to analyze a Plan Document/Summary Plan Description.
  • Experience with Mental Health Parity and NQTL Analysis is a plus.
  • Experience in administration of self-funded or fully insured group health plans preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, analytical, and strategic skills required.
  • Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels; where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important.
  • Intermediate level work experience with Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel Access software applications.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
