This mid-level managerial position is responsible for the planning, development and implementation of sexual health programming as part of the CDPH Office of School Health within the Bureau of Maternal, Infant, Child and Adolescent Health.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
* Manage the development and implementation of sexual health programming to improve health outcomes of school-aged children and adolescents.
* Develop program work objectives, quality standards and performance measures.
* Monitor program performance and identify and implement changes in design and operations to improve outcomes.
* Direct the development and management of procurement processes, contracts, budgets, grants and other administrative work needed to support programming.
* Partner with health care providers, community-based organizations, and school staff to design and implement programs.
* Serve as the internal and external expert on adolescent sexual health by monitoring developments in policy, research and programming in the field.
* Collaborate with health care providers, funders, advocates, government agencies, policymakers and other community stakeholders to inform, enhance and promote program and policy activities.
* Maintain an understanding of public health and demographic data, current research and best practices related to adolescent sexual health and tailor programs, services, and policies to promote health equity.
* Identify and participate in cross-departmental activities to improve health outcomes for school-aged children and adolescents.

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS
This position requires applicants to complete an interview which will include a written exercise as part of the interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the oral and written parts of the interview will be selected.
Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following:
* Previous work experience in adolescent sexual health or school health services
* Previous work experience planning, implementing or administering public health, social service or related field programs, preferably in a public sector setting
* Previous supervisory experience in managing staff development practices
* Knowledge of public health principles and the role of health in addressing health equity.
* Proficiency in data analysis and use of data to inform decision making
