The Operations Manager holds a pivotal role in overseeing, strategizing, and optimizing daily operations, ensuring alignment with the organization's goals. They are instrumental in driving efficiency, managing resources, and fostering collaboration across departments to enhance overall productivity and success.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the organization's objectives.

  • Streamline workflows and procedures to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

  • May supervise and mentor operational teams, ensuring they meet performance targets.

  • Ensure products/services meet quality standards through regular monitoring and improvements.

  • Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate them.

  • Maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods/services.

  • Ensure operations comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.

  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.

  • Liaise between different departments to facilitate seamless operations and communication flow.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • BS Degree Required, Master's degree preferred - engineering, facilities management.

  • 5+ years Prior experience with contract research, pharmaceutical manufacturing and/or a vivarium environment

  • Understanding of operational processes, supply chain, and logistics.

  • Knowledge of budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis.

  • Understanding of the industry-specific operational requirements.

  • Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations impacting operations.

  • Utilizing software and tools for process optimization and data analysis.

  • Ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams effectively.

  • Capacity to identify issues and develop effective solutions.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with various stakeholders.

  • Capability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.

  • Organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to think long-term and align operations with organizational goals.

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing environments and prioritize tasks accordingly.

  • Confidence in making timely and informed decisions.

  • Capacity to handle conflicts and resolve issues within teams or departments.

  • Ensuring accuracy and precision in managing operations.

Pay Range: $73,305 - $122,730 based on years or prior related experience
