Position Description

Due to continued growth we have opportunities for Commissioning Technicians based in Northern Virginia. Full product training and support will be given to the candidate from one of the world's leading manufacturers of critical cooling equipment.
The ideal candidate will predominantly work in the Northern Virginia region but may be required to work across the US, as our business grows.

While this is a remote position, the expectation of the position is 85% travel to different sites to service Modine's Data Center products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensuring products are commissioned and operate correctly as designed and attend IST testing as and when required.
  • Identify any manufacturing or design defects on installed products. carry out remedial work and offer recommendations to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Raise corrective action reports on defects.
  • Provide detailed typed reports, complete with photographic evidence, after each site visit within a timely manner.
  • Liaise with customers on site and ensure that our equipment is handed over to the customer in the correct manner with the correct documentation.
  • Carry out customer training on both new and existing products.
  • Keep all your personal equipment within the AIAC calibration program.
  • Ensure EPA requirements are adhered to.
  • Keep up to date with new product technology.
  • Work with the Controls teams on hardware and software, assist with testing/proving software operation whilst on site, and give relevant feedback.
  • The role will necessitate the use of a commercial vehicle as their primary source of transportation.
  • Act in a professional manner towards customers to promote company image at all times.
  • Follow health and safety policies and procedures at Airedale and at customer sites
  • Maintain an excellent attendance record
Required Education & Qualifications
  • A two year technical degree in HVAC or related discipline preferred (Substantial technical experience may substitute for a degree)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of product reliability or service experience required
  • Must have the ability to diplomatically resolve problems and project the appropriate company image while interacting with customers
  • EPA Type II Certification required (Universal EPA preferred)
  • Applicable HVAC license preferred
  • Chillers - experience of service, maintenance and ideally the commissioning of chillers and chiller systems
  • Close Controls system - Ability to work through controls systems for Diagnosis of faults, service and repairs
  • Experience of working within data centres/business critical environments.
  • Strong electrical experience with the ability to read detailed electrical schematics to diagnose faults accurately.
  • Strong mechanical experience - water/fridge systems.
  • Knowledge of different compressor technologies would be an advantage - Screw, Scroll, Turbocor. Training would be provided for the Turbocor product.
  • Organised, with a proactive positive personality, and an ability to self-manage.
  • Good communication and report writing skills
  • Computer literate PC knowledge - general skills in Microsoft office
  • Excellent customer service/facing skills
  • Controls navigation knowledge - Carel/Trend. Training would be provided.
  • Problem solving skills
