Job Description
Position Title: 2nd Shift Maintenance Tech

Wage: $25-$32/hour

Shift: 2nd

Hours: 3pm-11pm

QPS Employment Group is hiring a Maintenance Tech for a company in Fort Atkinson, WI. This is a direct hire opportunity.

Maintenance Tech Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensure all facility equipment is in proper working condition
- Assist in maintaining accurate repair and maintenance records on all equipment
- Ensure all tools and supplies are available for equipment maintenance
- Assist with obtaining necessary permits as required and ensure work performed meets applicable codes
- Recommend improvements in operation and on equipment to improve quality and productivity of work
- Serve as a role model for all personnel through demonstrated enthusiasm, commitment, and willingness to do whatever it takes to do quality work
- Ensure compliance with company policies pertaining to methods, procedures, records, reports, conduct, etc. of all employees under your direction
- Maintain inventory of necessary parts/supplies to ensure productivity
- Integrity regarding confidential and proprietary information
- Maintain strong employee relationships encouraging suggestions for improvements in their individual areas of operation
- Demonstrate good judgment and reasoning when investigating and solving problems
- Help with evaluating the performance of Maintenance Department employees at least yearly
- Promote a positive working environment that supports management decisions and teamwork
- Enhance job growth through continuing education as necessary
- Ensure that the customer is our priority
- Troubleshoot and repair machines and equipment
- Read and work from maintenance manuals, electrical schematics, and parts lists to repair and help with install equipment
- Inspect machines routinely to ensure proper function and efficiency
- Help with set pm schedule and procedure on all equipment
- Set up and operate machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, fixtures, and tools
- Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts
- Repair and maintain physical structure of facility (interior and exterior)
- Help maintain good housekeeping in work areas
- Adhere to lockout tagout procedure and perform all work safely
- Comply with all company policies and procedures

Maintenance Tech Requirements:
- Associate Degree or equivalent experience in the electrical field
- Forklift experience is a plus
- 10+ years of experience in maintenance
- Comprehensive experience of procedures within a manufacturing facility
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Full understanding of customer service philosophy and procedures of the company
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills to deal effectively with customers (both internal and external)
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups in a training capacity
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form
- Proficient in MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, and have a general working knowledge of business operating group software
- Frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Occasionally sit
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
