Company Overview:

STS Technical Services is actively seeking a qualified Manufacturing Engineering Planner to join our team in Greensboro, North Carolina. This role is pivotal in enhancing aircraft production by creating detailed work instructions and maintaining the build sequence to ensure efficiency and compliance with all regulatory standards.

Position Summary:

As a Manufacturing Engineering Planner, you will be responsible for planning and documenting all stages of the aircraft fabrication and installation process. This includes creating visual and written work instructions, maintaining master build sequences, and contributing to the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and plan the sequence of fabrication, assembly, and installation operations for aircraft production to maximize efficiency and accuracy.
  • Utilize Teamcenter to update and maintain the master build sequence, integrating changes to optimize production and reduce costs.
  • Create and revise manufacturing bills of materials (MBOMs) and ensure accurate documentation to support manufacturing and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement design changes and address production challenges.
  • Support quality assurance and corrective action programs to resolve production issues and ensure the delivery of airworthy aircraft.
Education and Experience:
  • Associates degree required; B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering Technology preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in manufacturing planning, with a strong background in visual and written documentation.
  • Experience in aircraft manufacturing processes, including composite drilling, assembly, and avionics installations highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6, SAP, and Teamcenter Manufacturing highly beneficial.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Expertise in reading and interpreting 2D/3D engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of configuration management and MBOMs.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex processes clearly.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with process planning software.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work in various manufacturing environments, subjected to noise, dust, and potential exposure to equipment operational elements.
  • Capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs with assistance and adapting to extensive standing or moving.
