We are continuously expanding our plastics manufacturing capabilities in thermoforming, extrusion, injection molding and plastic recycling while providing high-tech products and innovative solutions to meet the needs of our customers.
POSITION AVAILABLE:
PLASTIC EXTRUSION MACHINE OPERATOR
The Plastic Extrusion Machine Operator sets up, operates, and tends to the extrusion machines to produce custom thermoplastic sheet. Utilizes retained knowledge of products and material to produce top quality products. Applies mechanical skills to adjust machines and ensures product is produced to meet customer requests.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Adjust machine components to regulate speeds, pressures and temperatures, amounts, and dimensions, and flow of materials or ingredients using pre-algebraic formulas.
  • Examine, measure, and weigh materials or products to verify conformance to standards by utilizing measuring devices such as tape measures, micrometers, and scales.
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure maximum and accurate output and make adjustments when applicable.
  • Perform start-up, set-up, production, and clean-up tasks that include die splits, adapters, and screws. Ensure all thermoplastic sheets produced are in compliance with Quality Standards.
  • Review Process books, specifications, or instructions to determine appropriate materials, ingredients, procedures, components, settings, and adjustments.
  • Operate a fork truck to set up machines and preparing finished goods for shipping, as necessary.
  • Learn to Identify materials needed for the order, maintain accurate production records, and demonstrate understanding of material flow.
  • Select and install machine components such as dies, rolls, and cutters, according to specifications, using hand tools and measuring devices.
  • Record and maintain production data such as meter readings, and quantities, types, and dimensions of materials produced accurately.
  • Notify supervisors when operation fails to meet production and quality standards.
  • Inspect equipment and/or materials to identify maintenance issues, the cause of errors, other problems, or defects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
SCHEDULE: 12.25 Hour Rotating Shifts (2 Days per week and every other Friday, Saturday and Sunday); Day: 6:00AM - 6:15PM OR Night: 6:00PM - 6:15AM
Minimum Basic Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must read, write, understand, and follow work instructions, charts, and signs in English
  • Must have math skills for calculating ratios, percentages, fraction measurements, counting, inventory and production reporting
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, manufacturing, production environment
  • Strong attention to detail; following instructions both verbal and written

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. Move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
