This role will involve building relationships with business owners, and collaborating with the Business Services teams to identify opportunities for promotion of credit union products.   • Understands and promotes products/services to meet the member's financial needs including online banking, mobile and remote deposit capture, merchant services, debit/credit card, all types of deposit accounts, and other treasury management services.
  • Reviews and recommends improvements to existing products and services to meet the financial needs of targeted members. Keeps up to date on industry trends and the competition.
  • Identifies opportunities for new relationships and supports growth of Credit Union portfolio. Targets individuals, businesses, municipalities, and organizations and actively goes out and develops the relationships.
  • Grows their member portfolio through new member acquisition, with focus on profitable revenue growth and the overall financial plan for the Credit Union.
  • Maintains and develops the Credit Union's existing and new member base through business development activities, including outbound calls, marketing campaigns, in branch events and community involvement.
  • Networks consistently and effectively with members, peers, centers of influence and others within the communities.
  • Account opening, wire origination and general account servicing as required for business membership base.
  • Brings in relevant Business Services staff when a business loan opportunity arises and a Mortgage Loan Officer when a mortgage opportunity arises. Cross-sells services in a professional and effective manner.
  • Sells and refers a full range of member products/services to meet or exceed established sales goals to support overall sales objective.
  • Receives member information, verifies member validity and identity, opens and maintains all types of deposit accounts, enters all data into the Credit Union's system and ensures accuracy of documentation.
  • Creates and delivers monthly sales management report to monitor results.
  • Develops professional and accurate sales proposals from conception to completion including pricing analysis.
  • Maintains a professional relationship with vendors and other professionals and represents the Credit Union in various business, trade, charity, civic, and social organizations to support the community and provide for positive public relations. Speaks at community events on appropriate topics as requested.
  • Delivers exceptional member services in a team atmosphere.

Job Specifications

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Financial services certifications a plus.
  • Three or more years of industry experience, including treasury management sales and relationship management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a variety of people, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated success in business development activities.
  • Working knowledge of treasury management systems and business deposit products.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and organize work effectively.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet time deadlines.
  • Ability to make logical decisions and carry out decisions made.
  • Ability to work effectively and non-defensively with a variety of personalities.
  • Ability to consistently and independently produce quality work product without errors and by deadline.
  • Working knowledge of computers and business software (Excel, Word) and the ability to learn proprietary software. Ability to operate general office equipment.
  • Close attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to safely operate a vehicle and travel to member sites.
  • Valid Driver's license required.
  • Ability to be an attentive and active listener.
  • Is able to work effectively and efficiently, both individually and as a team contributor.
  • Maintains the highest level of confidentiality with all information obtained.
  • Must have regular attendance at the job site.
  • Must follow policies and procedures to assure proper documentation and compliance with regulations.
