We are looking for a Shift Engineer responsible for the critical activities of steam and chilled water production, including operations from a centralized control system. The Shift Engineer works closely with their team to ensure prompt system casualty response and troubleshooting, as well as assisting with repair and maintenance of plant equipment and facilities. Perform the duties of a Lead Engineer or Shift Engineer on a relief basis, or when assigned.
Minimum requirements:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Operate the heating, cooling, distribution and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner while ensuring compliance with all pertinent regulations and requiring minimal direction.
2. Perform all in-field operation of: water treatment; gas and oil burning equipment; chillers and cooling towers; and other plant equipment.
3. Perform lubrication where required and on schedule as specified by the Facility Lubrication Program.
4. Assist in record keeping and maintenance of the plant logbook for all equipment.
5. Perform housekeeping as specified in the Facility Housekeeping Plan and as assigned by supervisor or Lead Engineer.
6. Assist Lead Engineer and Relief Lead Engineer in making adjustments to boiler and other equipment controls.
7. Perform minor maintenance and/or assist in plant equipment maintenance. Perform minor maintenance walkthroughs for the purpose of repairing minor maintenance items. Document issues found but not repaired on a Work Order.
8. Perform equipment isolation and lockouts to ensure a high degree of personnel safety and equipment protection.
9. In the absence of the Lead Engineer or the Relief Lead Engineer, be responsible for the monitoring and control of the facility in the Control Room while keeping the Lead Engineer informed of changes or abnormalities.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.
