Job Summary | To reliably and effectively function as the in-office Public Safety representative, answering calls for service and communicating with patrol staff, Facilities Management personnel, Residence Life and other offices. Monitors alarms, access control and video security systems, and use those systems to retrieve information in a timely manner. Maintains basic records associated with daily shift activities, and performs data entry of incident reports, parking records and other department information in an accurate and timely manner. In the event of an emergency situation, activates the University's emergency procedures to protect life, prevent injury, protect property, and initiates emergency notifications. |

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements | Employee is subject to indoor environmental conditions in an office setting. Position requires the ability to sit and remain alert for extended periods of time, to stand and walk unassisted, to occasionally lift and carry items up to 40 pounds, and to reach and grasp items and controls. Position requires normal vision and accurate hearing, as the position involves communication via phone, 2-way radio, and in-person, and monitoring of emergency scanners and alarm systems with audible alerts. The ability to communicate clearly in English, verbally and in writing, is required. |

The afternoon shift. This shift covers 2:00pm - 10:00pm. 5 days a week with regular set days off determined based on operational needs. |
