Job Description
Genesis10 is currently seeking a Sr. Data Engineer who will need to have a presence in our Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based facilities two times a week.

Summary:

This is a key role in the organization that will provide thought leadership, as well as, add substantial value by delivering trusted data sources and visualizations that tell a story and solve real business needs/problems. This role will focus on designing and developing common data sources that can be leveraged for data visualization across the enterprise ensuring reuse and consistency. You will collaborate with team members and business stakeholders to make data meaningful.

Having 7+ years prior experience in developing data pipelines and partnering with business stakeholders to drive adoption will be critical to the success of this role. This is a hybrid role that will need to have a presence in our Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based facilities two times a week.


Major Accountabilities:
  • Be a champion of analytics and known as a key partner with business areas to drive analytics transformation.
  • Ability to think logically and constructively about complex data/problems, clearly communicate analysis findings and propose solutions that meet or exceed expressed needs within the project.
  • Establish architecture patterns, design standards, and best practices to accelerate delivery and adoption of solutions.
  • To create automated, easily understood data assets in the presentation layer.AlteryxBuild data sources using .toolset
  • Build data visualizations and/or coach and mentor business content creators to create high-impact self-service capabilities leveraging Tableau
  • Prioritize requests in partnership with business stakeholders across the functions that align with business strategy and performance targets.
  • Become known as an expert in functional area's data and business processes.
  • Assist, educate, train users to drive self-service enablement leveraging best practices.
  • Collaborate with business subject matter experts, analysts, and offshore team members to develop and deliver accurate analytics and visualizations in a timely manner.
  • Advocate for and adhere to governance, quality, standards, and best practices, ensuring data accuracy.
Position Challenges:
  • Bringing others along as we drive change throughout the organization (change leadership & change management).
  • Build credibility as a key team member, while maintaining objectivity and following centralized best practices and governance.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Seven plus years' experience working with ETL/ELT tools.
  • Experience building efficient and scalable workflows.
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
  • Troubleshooting skills, analytical ability, experience in mathematics, statistics, and problem-solving techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering business value by structuring and analyzing large, complex data sets.
  • Demonstrated initiative, strong sense of accountability, collaboration, and known as a trusted business partner.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Manufacturing industry experience specifically supply chain and operations.
  • ERP system such as Oracle or SAP.
  • Cloud-based data platforms like Snowflake or Azure data warehouse.
  • Portfolio management/project management tools.
  • Prior experience with data reference guide/data catalog tools.
  • Prior experience working with with visualization tools.
