Job Description:          Sales Engineer

Company Overview:   KSM Industries is a leading custom sheet metal fabricator dedicated to providing high-quality, innovative solutions to a diverse range of industries.  With a commitment to precision, excellence, and customer satisfaction, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Engineer to join our team.  This role will focus on expanding our customer base within select target markets, specifically targeting regional Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).

Position Summary:  As a Sales Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and expanding our market presence.  The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of success in a commercial role with experience in metal fabrication and welding industries preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Market Expansion: 
    • Identify, target and cultivate relationships with regional OEMS to expand our customer base
    • Develop and execute sales plans and prospecting lists to achieve growth objectives with the target markets
    • Work with internal new product teams to confirm fit, maintain internal databases to measure success
    • Meeting or exceeding monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts 
  • Customer Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain relationships with key decision makers within OEMs
    • Follow up on quotes to gain market intelligence and measure success
    • Collaborate with customers to understand their unique requirements and provide tailored solutions
    • Effectively using CRM system to track all customer related activity
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Leverage technical knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, welding processes and industry standards to effectively communicate product capabilities and advantages
    • Provide technical support and guidance to customer, ensuring a thorough understanding of their needs.
  • Sales Presentations and Proposals:
    • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals that showcase our capabilities and value proposition
    • Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to develop customized solutions that meet customer specifications
    • Prepare and submit periodic reports on activities, sales volume, expenses, etc.
  • Market Analysis:
    • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities and market dynamics to identify new opportunities and challenges.
    • Provide regular feedback to the management team regarding market insights and customer needs

Qualifications:
  • Proven track record of success in a business development or sales role, preferably in the manufacturing industry
  • Strong technical background with knowledge of metal fabrication and welding preferred
  • Must have the ability to read and understand detailed customer drawings and technical specifications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders
  • Results-oriented mindset, with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned region as needed.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or related field or 2-4 years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in sales, preferably in the metals and fabrication industry
