Provides information services, including research assistance, readers' advisory and instruction.
Responds to customer concerns and disputes; resolves issues if possible, or refers to supervisor.
Performs customer account tasks that may include account registration, basic circulation functions, placing holds and interlibrary loan requests, and accepting payment and making change.
Markets and promotes library programs and services through conversation with customers.
May assist in planning, coordination, and delivery of library programs.
May provide work direction to staff and volunteers; serves as lead worker in the absence of the Branch Manager or designee.
Works in all branches of the Library system as the needs of service dictate.
Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
Must work the days and hours necessary to perform all assigned responsibilities and tasks, including evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Requires a bachelor's degree -OR- 2 years of public library experience. MLS and broad-based public library experience recognized. Excellent interpersonal communication, customer service and problem-solving skills are needed.
