Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Under supervision, cleans, adjusts, repairs and performs preventative maintenance on equipment in the Dewatering & Drying Facility and in the Milorganite Storage Facility, such as belt filter press, classification screens, milling equipment, product elevators, storage bins and/or tanks, transporters, wet electrostatic precipitators, dust handling equipment, chemical storage facilities, fuel oil storage facilities and other related components in a safe and efficient manner to produce a saleable product, Milorganite.
  • Work is performed in an industrial environment and involves exposure to raw sewage, confined spaces, blended sludges, process chemicals, odors, dust; extremes in temperatures and humidity, noise, lubricants and moving equipment.
  • Work is normally performed on the day shift with occasional need to work overtime to meet emergencies, process needs and shipping demands.
Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Experience to provide reading, writing, mechanical and communication skills sufficient for job-related materials.
  • 6 months to 1 year of work that required basic mechanical maintenance or operational skills.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Skills in operation of hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to operate various equipment for industrial cleanup of dust spills etc. (sweeper).
  • Ability to wear breathing apparatus for confined entry.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job

Required Certification/Licenses/Training:

  • Valid Wisconsin driver's license.
