About The Position

METCOR/LSI has a need for an Instructional Designer to support the development and delivery of technical, procedural, and/or soft-skills training materials for federal employees. This position is full-time, remote, and offers a long-term opportunity for internal growth within an established organization.

METCOR/LSI maintains a drug-free work environment. All positions require the ability to pass a background investigation conducted by a federal government agency and a drug test. U.S. citizenship is required.

Duties and Responsibilities in the Instructional Designer role:

  • Collaborate on the design and development of training materials (presentations, quick reference tools, instructor/participant guides, etc.) on a variety of topics
  • Design and develop web-based training using a variety of development technologies
  • Deliver instructor-led training
  • Edit and review content for other team members
  • Research and study to become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on a variety of topics

Required Skills and Abilities for the Instructional Designer role:

  • Knowledge of and experience using the ADDIE process of Instructional Systems Design
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High degree of flexibility and adaptability
  • Analytical skills and a high level of attention to detail
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office with emphasis on Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment
  • Champion of life-long learning and self-development

Education and Experience for the Instructional Designer role:

  • Bachelor's degree required (in a related field such as Instructional Design, Education, or English preferred)
  • Graduate work and/or additional certifications preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience designing and developing training materials on a variety of topics
  • 1-3 years of experience designing and developing web-based training using Lectora, Articulate, and other development technologies
  • Experience in 504/508 and SCORM accessibility compliance testing preferred

Physical Requirements of the Instructional Designer role:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

Compensation

  • $60,000 - $85,000 annually
