As the Assistant Director of Housekeeping, you will provide dynamic leadership and assist with the management of the Housekeeping Department ensuring that our guest rooms, public areas and employee areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness. You will assist with directing all aspects of housekeeping services including but not limited to operations, staffing and training.

Built in 1893, The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee has been a hotel icon for nearly 130 years. What you will be doing:

  • Assist with analysis of departmental issues and recommends courses of action to improve and/or enhance the overall department.
  • Assist with controlling of inventory and payroll expenses as well as P&L analysis.
  • Ensure that all standards of cleanliness and maintenance are consistently met throughout the department by all associates.
  • Provide Supervision of assigned Housekeeping associates and areas to ensure job duties are completed.
  • Assist with the daily operation of the Housekeeping department and acts as manager on duty for the department as applicable.
  • Counsel associates to include completion and administering of written performance appraisals.
  • Provide training to all Housekeeping staff as applicable.
  • Inspect and grade work performance of associates to ensure standards are being met.
  • Represent the hotel with professionalism and decorum.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

What we are looking for:

  • Previous housekeeping supervisory or management experience, with thorough knowledge of all housekeeping procedures.
  • High School Diploma required, advanced degree in hospitality related field preferred.
  • Supervisory skills, with the ability to successfully develop and retain a quality staff and maintain harmonious associate relations.
  • Good interpersonal skills and verbal communication skills.
  • Complete knowledge on operations of all cleaning equipment and material, including vacuum cleaners, push carts and normal cleaning chemicals.
