The Cutting Tool Specialist position is responsible for supporting the PFERD sales efforts by providing technical expertise, training and field support. Particular focus will be put on gaining market share through planning and execution of a consultative sales strategy at large potential end users. Effective and professional communication skills are critical when dealing with various departments, Territory Sales Managers (TSMs) and Independent Manufacturer Representatives (IMRs). Must be able to multi-task and possess excellent time management, organizational, and problem solving skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Sales Team to;
    1. Develop and Maintain a Top 10 project focus for this position applying a S.M.A.R.T. assessment to each opportunity
    2. Track each Top 10 project through the PFERD sales process to completion
    3. Document all information and activities by utilizing the C4C system
  • Support TSMs & IMRs in resolving technical issues and product application issues
  • Collaborate with the Sales Team to develop the data required to present Documented Cost Savings
  • Collaborate with RSMs to identify and develop strategic targeted accounts to grow profitability and overall sales
  • Collaborate with product management on potential new product opportunities in the market
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of PFERD's full product line in order to assist customers with application and product inquiries
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of PFERD policies, procedures, and terms of sale in order to provide timely and accurate information to customers
  • Responds to customer inquiries timely
  • Exercises independent judgment in problem solving with internal and external customers
  • Assist the RSMs with the development and integration of IMRs/TSMs as needed
  • Other duties or special projects as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of Technical Sales Experience with Solid Carbide Tools, Bachelor's Degree in Business or Sales is a plus
  • Requirement to travel up to 75%
  • Aerospace and Automotive Industry knowledge is a huge plus
  • Extensive knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Office Suite, C4C, BI, SAP, etc.)
  • Excellent communications, writing and oral presentation skills
  • Motivated, well-organized, detail-oriented and flexible
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and understand all areas of the business
  • Ability to successfully collaborate with multiple personalities and communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and have a positive attitude
  • Ability to perform as a team player

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift material for demonstrating our products and could weigh up to 50 pounds.
