The Vice President - Specialty Education, provides professional leadership and general supervision for the educational programs within Universal Health Services Behavioral Health Division

  • Keeps continuously informed on the progress and condition of these educational programs.
  • Provides a systematic approach to long-range planning consistent with patient/student trends, community needs, and the appropriate use of Company facilities.
  • Develops and oversees the implementation of the annual educational services strategic plan including the execution of goals and objectives for the Company, in conjunction with Division Leadership and facility CEOs.
  • Fosters teamwork to create outstanding learning environments where students achieve at very high levels and make significant progress in closing the achievement gap.
  • Focuses on support through data management and school improvement plans as well as required technology to support educational growth of all students.
  • Works with State Lobbyists and other legislators to support fair and equitable treatment for students in the UHS programs both from a financial perspective as well as a quality education perspective.

A bachelor's degree is required, master's degree is preferred.

Minimum of 10+ years experience.
Up to 50% travel.


Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Must have leadership experience in educational settings up to and including previous principal credentials.
  • Able to work both strategically and tactically to obtain positive results.
  • Must also possess the skill to facilitate educational legislation on the state and federal level throughout the nation.
  • Recommends, annually, to Division Leadership, system-wide educational services strategic plan. Monitors and reports back at least semi-annually on the progress toward achieving the goals in the plan.
  • Reviews state and federal education legislation and works with Division Leadership including Vice Presidents and Facility CEOs to ensure the Company's educational position on certain issues is articulated to legislators and government officials. Promotes education legislation to address the need for additional financial resources for specific facilities. Provides technical assistance with individual state education statutes to facilities as needed.
  • Increases new educational opportunities such as programs for people with autism and engages all facilities in a comprehensive annual review to create new services where appropriate.
  • Submits individual facility educational recommendations to Division Leadership and Facility CEOs as needed.
  • Supports Facility based Education Directors in full implementation of Best In Class strategies, technology updates and school improvement plans to align with goals to continuously improve student outcomes.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
