The Mechanical Robotic Automation Engineer supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of manufacturing tools and electromechanical systems that includes automated components such as collaborative robots, conveyors, vision systems and programmable controller.

This role is responsible for troubleshooting, process control, control systems design, robotics as a part of cost savings and quality improvement, for Saint-Gobain Life Sciences manufacturing facility in Portage, WI.

The purpose of this role is to automate production functions.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead and is accountable for the design, implementation, and integration of robotics and automation focused biologics laboratory supporting the development engineering team.
  • Responsible for hands-on integration of robotics, and existing systems and press / machines.
  • Expert in robotic and automation development.
  • Supports the development engineering team with a focus on the implementation and integration, relating to robotics and automation applied to development and production.
  • Design, create, modify and validate automated equipment integration to meet internal and external customer requirements.
  • Supports cross-functional groups in the development and implementation of automated systems in support of manufacturing.
  • Test automations software function and review for improvements in cost and machine run times.
  • Create and / or modify existing end of tooling and automation equipment

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering,required
  • Project Management experience,required
  • Strong proficiency in PLC programming,required
  • 3+ years' experience in Automation Engineering,required
  • Robotic programming and 3D CAD experience,required
