Regional Director, Managed Care and Payer Strategies (Southeast Region)

The Regional Director of Managed Care will be responsible for managed care and payer contracting for assigned behavioral health facilities in designated region. The Regional Director will ensure appropriate organization, communication and coordination with managed care organizations and payers for and on behalf of assigned facilities.

*This role requires moderate travel (25-30%). Preference for candidate to be based in the Southeast US.


Responsible for organization and negotiation of all managed care contracts for assigned facilities.
Establishes exceptional communication between the payer, the facility and UHS leadership.
Leads the payer relations strategies for assigned facilities.
Collaborates with local and regional finance on data analysis.
Responsible for coordinating and conducting key meetings and presentations with payers.


Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree required (Master's Preferred)
* 8-10 years of related experience required (10+ years preferred)
* Must have at least 5 years' experience employed by a healthcare insurance payer
* Moderate travel nationally and within dedicated geographic region
* Must have payer rate negotiation experience.
* Comprehensive working knowledge of managed care contracting and practices sufficient to maximize revenue generated from these sources. Knowledge of health care finance practices and methods.
* Demonstrated managed care contract negotiation skills. Demonstrated inter-personal and written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to collate and analyze multiple data points to inform negotiations. Demonstrated ability to work across various levels of the organization up to and including C-Suite (internally and externally). Demonstrated skills in small and large group presentations.
