Custom Sewer

The Custom Sewer creates and sews covers for all custom products. Sew all products in accordance with company performance and quality standards.

Our Sewing department in New Berlin, WI is now looking for a
Custom Sewer.

Key Tasks

  • Read and follow work order specifications via Electronic Distribution of Orders (EDO) & order hard copies to build and assemble quality parts in a timely fashion.
  • Create and sew product according to specifications.
  • Assemble custom cover on foam to ensure proper fit.
  • Monitor and to stock work area with Velcro, buckles, zippers, zipper pulls and common loop.
  • Produce custom orders within 2 days from receipt of order.
  • Follow and comply with all safety, work rules, regulations, ISO procedures, lean Initiatives and lean events.
  • Maintain departmental housekeeping standards. Maintain 5'S Program.
  • Assist and Cross train in other departments, as needed, to ensure products are completed on time.
  • Maintain Kanban System and participate in cycle counts.

Your Background

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years prior industrial sewing experience in manufacturing setting.
  • Solid knowledge of company products.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide).
  • Ability to read, write, and understand instruction detail written and communicated in English.
  • Good oral and written communication skills in order to interact with employees and supervisor.
