Armstrong World Industries, Inc. has a job opportunity for a Production Supervisor to be located in Marietta, PA. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for the effective management and overall performance of production activities at the plant in the areas of safety, quality, process effectiveness, financial performance, customer service and organizational development. Additionally, the Production Supervisor will work with other plant resources and operating personnel, the Production Supervisor is responsible for leading their crew in achieving process, line and plant performance manufacturing goals through technical and operating improvements.

What you'll be doing:

  • Ensuring all material shipped to customers meet quality specifications
  • Holding your crew accountable for making quality product
  • Ensuring standard settings and standard operating procedures are being used/followed
  • Ensuring process checks, board inspections and whiteboard and manufacturing system entries are being completed
  • Following up on scrap RCFA's (root cause failure analysis) and quality hold events to ensure they are complete
  • Planning ahead and setting the next shift up for success
  • Ensuring operator maintenance is completed on time
  • Identifying and implementing maintenance and process improvement ideas
  • Scheduling your crew to minimize overall cost to the department
  • Managing crew training and ensure cross training and skill depth of associates

What will make you successful:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Proven capability to organize and implement change
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing field
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Ability to work rotating shift including nights and weekends

What will make you stand out

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma methodologies, SPC, manufacturing and maintenance systems, organizational development and human resources initiatives.
  • Previous experience managing a unionized workforce
