Key Job Responsibilities
  • Assembles Mining Drills forKomatsu Mining (KMC) Products by aligning, fitting, tacking and welding, assembles mechanical units. Loads and secures heavy machinery and equipment to car for shipment, welds angles to cars or parts, bolts or any other type hold downs for loading.
  • Receives work assignments and instructions, when required, obtains and checks drawings to determine layout, sequence of operations and visualize complete structural components, lays out work applying shop mathematics using appropriate measuring and marking tools as required. Assembles pieces according to layout, tack welds, trims pieces with burning torch when necessary to obtain accurate fit; obtains specified size and type of electrodes, selects amperage on assigned AC or DC machine for type and thickness of material, and welds structural sections using accepted arc welding procedures.
  • Manually hitches and moves heavy weldments, sections, and parts using overhead crane, lays out and marks locations for lining up and assembling units, drills, reams, and taps holes as required. Files and grinds surfaces when necessary. Hitches unit or piece exercising care not to damage it; move and place load on car; weighs load as required. Nails timbers, blocks, boards to floor and supports as required. Operates saw(s) to cut timbers, blocks, wedges, boards, etc. when necessary.
  • Welds angles to cars or parts, bolts or any other type hold down for loading, welds flat, vertical and overhead. Aligns, assembles, and welds structural components. Assembles and aligns motors, generators, collector brackets, etc. on mining equipment. Match marks various sections for assembly and disassembles as required for shipment.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Previous Heavy Assembly experience. Prior Welding experience is strongly preferred.
  • Previous Blueprint Reading experience.
  • Must be able to communicate well within a team structure.
  • Available for work approximately 40 hours per week. OT Potential.
  • Ability to work 2nd Shift.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task and be flexible.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality-always.
  • Team oriented.
  • May be asked to work weekends. Ability to work weekends as needed.

  • Starting wage is $29.80 / hour.
  • Shift premium Available for off shift roles.
  • Vacation and personal time after 6 months of service.
  • Insurance after 75 days of service.
