Job Description

We Are Hiring:Patient Transporter/CNA - PACU 0.8 FTE Day/PM

Schedule:

Looking for hardworking team member who enjoys limited duration of patient interaction. This position supports movement of patients between the PACU and other departments. Must be able to move beds with help and carts independently.

8 hour shifts 7:30- 4:00 or 12:00 - 20:30
every other Friday off! Weekend call every 3-4 weekends Saturday and Sunday 730-1700 with call pay.

Pay: From $18/hour

In a single day, staff from 4 specialty based teams work within 16 Operating Room Suites to handle as many as 40 cases ranging from Cardiothoracic, Neuro/Orthopedics/Dental, General/Vascular/ ENT, GYN, Urology, to Plastics surgery. Waukesha Memorial Hospitals Operating Rooms average 8,500 procedures annually including da Vinci Robotic procedures performed within more specialties routinely than any other facility in SE Wisconsin. The OR suite also includes a newly built Hybrid OR and a fully integrated Minimally Invasive Robotic room.

What You Will Do:
  • Plans work through assignments by the RN and/or through established protocol.
  • Organizes work assignments with consideration for economy of time, effort and supplies. Gives priority to and patient requests. Assists in meeting basic patient needs for physical, psychological and environmental comfort and safety.
  • Delivers care in a nonjudgmental and nondiscriminatory manner that is sensitive to client diversity, while preserving and protecting client autonomy, dignity, and rights.
  • Acquires and continually enhances knowledge in current practice.
  • Seeks out opportunities for growth in an effort to maintain and increase skills and cognitive abilities.
  • Completion of the department orientation competency checklist for this specific position.
  • Completion of the annual competency checklist for this specific position.
  • Transport specific functions- Receives verbal or written patient, specimen or equipment transport assignments. Seeks clarification from appropriate resources when necessary. Uses proper body mechanics to transport patients via wheelchair, stretcher, bed. Cleans and disinfects transport equipment.
  • Nursing Assistant specific functions*- Receives verbal assignments/tasks. Seeks clarification from appropriate resources when necessary. Assists in the collection and documentation of the client's health care data and reports unusual observations to the RN. Assists with ensuring systematic, on-going, data collection with relevant documentation. Assists in meeting basic patient needs for nutrition and elimination.

What You Will Need

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
  • Highschool diploma
  • Less than 1 year experience.
