Developmental Paraprofessional

Also known as Developmental Client Coach

Location: Deerfield, IL and surrounding areas

Job Type:Part-time

Salary: $20 - $26 dollars/hour (based on requirements/qualifications)

What we're looking for:

  • An individual passionate about helping children and/or young adults with developmental differences
  • The desire to make a difference in the lives of the people you serve and have fun doing it!
  • Eager to learn about and use a play-based model of support that helps you meet clients where they are
  • Experience working one-on-one with children and/or adolescents
  • A flexible schedule with the ability to commit to 8-10 hours per weekfor at least 6 months at a time
  • Comfort in building relationships with kids and their parents/caregivers
  • Interest in advancing your career learning from the pioneers of the industry as you grow with our company

What you will do as a Developmental Paraprofessional :

  • Work one-on-one with children and/or young adults with autism by providing developmental therapy
  • Paid training (We will teach you our Developmental Relationship-Based Intervention - DRBI - therapy and pay you for it!)
  • Spend therapy time working to connect with a child and the parents; effectively communicate with parents about their child
  • Commute to and from clients' homes
  • Follow client goals and feel comfortable inputting information into a clinical reporting system
  • Attend clinical lectures and team meetings
  • Play and have fun!

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with children
  • Can lift heavy objects/items (will consider accommodations if needed), get up and down from the floor easily, and actively play with children
  • Able to commit to a minimum of 6 months to a client schedule
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
  • Eager to learn our DRBI model
  • Capable of using Office 365 and learning clinical reporting as well as client-facing software apps
  • Being bilingual is a plus (not a requirement but applicable)
  • Two years minimum of undergraduate work or completed AA with an interest in working with children
