Job Summary
Supports evening care students with school success, helps prepare early childhood students for school readiness, and assists the center director. This is a grant funded position.

Job Description
  • Organize program materials for lessons and activities, as well as document attendance, incidents and other observation for ages 3-5,
  • Deliver dynamic daily curriculum to engage children ages 3-5 in academic and social character-building that expands school day learning in a meaningful way.
  • Using your coursework training, model positive guidance and effective classroom management to maintain the safety, well-being and attention of all children while leading fun fitness activities, and guiding children at play.
  • Excellent communication skills with varied audience including children, parents, staff and school personnel.
  • Model positive guidance and effective classroom management to maintain the safety and well-being and attention of all children.
  • Meets regularly with the Program Director regarding professional progress and team accountability.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have a bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field with ECE coursework. Professional Educator License (type 04) in Early Childhood
  • Knowledge of Teaching Strategies (TS) Gold, desirable.
  • Knowledge of Creative Curriculum, desirable.
  • Outstanding customer service and relationship building skills.
  • Works well in a team environment.
  • Ability to meet state-specific requirements, CPR, Mandated Reporter training, TB test, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of pre-school children between 3-5 yrs.
  • Preferred Head Start experiences.
  • Meet all University and DCFS hiring requirements, including background check and Physical.
  • Follow all DCFS licensing guidelines.
  • Attend and participate in all required training and professional development opportunities.
Additional Applicant Information
Physical Requirement/ Demands
  • Must be able to sit and kneel eye level to children when communicating with children.
  • Ability to lift 25lbs.
