JOB SUMMARY
The Gerald L. Ignace Indian Health Center is recruiting for a full-time licensed behavioral health professional with solid experience in working with adolescents and adults who experience co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders. This position is a non-supervisory position that will provide direct therapy services through individual, group, couple and family therapy modalities. We are looking for a passionate, caring, creative, trauma-informed clinician that utilizes a wide range of therapeutic interventions within their treatment practice.  The position requires strong crisis assessment and management skills, skilled experience working with trauma, and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary treatment team to provide culturally appropriate approaches to treatment for the Urban Native American community as well as the diverse community surrounding.  Clinicians that thrive in a team-oriented environment, are hard-working, geared toward professional growth, have strong experience with trauma treatment, and are flexible by nature will find this position rewarding.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for providing psychotherapy services for trauma, mental health and/or substance abuse services for adults and adolescents within the All-Nations Wellness Center Adult and Adolescent Therapy Clinic.  Modalities of treatment include individual, group, couple and/or family therapy.
  • Responsible for operations within the Department to ensure services are provided in a manner that meets all applicable regulatory licensure and accrediting regulations.
  • Responsible for completing mental health assessments and treatment planning.
  • Responsible for assessing client safety and risk to self or others and taking appropriate crisis intervention measures when indicated.
  • Participates in multi-disciplinary clinical staffing meetings and case consultation meetings with the ANWC Behavioral Health Treatment team. 
  • Participates in half-day weekly crisis triage with the medical clinic.
  • Consults and refers adults and adolescents for psychological testing.
  • Coordinates with families, community service providers, DV/SA advocates, and case management to maintain continuity of care.
  • Facilitates psychotherapy groups for survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
  • Participates in the therapist after-hours on-call rotational schedules.
  • Responsible for keeping charts up-to-date in a timely manner for certification process;
  • Responsible for tracking individual client caseload data and providing data reports to the Director of Behavioral Health upon request.
  • Responsible to ensure outreach, education, and prevention for the Gerald L. Ignace Indian Health Center, Inc.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality according to the Federal and state guidelines and requirements.
  • Maintains proper certification and licensure that is up-to-date accrediting standards for State Certified Mental Health Programs.
  • Upholds the American Counseling Association and/or National Association of Social Work Professional Code of Ethics.
  • Maintains a cooperative relationship with employees, medical staff, and others.
  • Adheres to and supports facility policies, programs, and activities.
  • Demonstrates tact, courtesy, and a positive approach to communication and interactions with other employees, visitors, physicians, etc.
  • Responsible for personal development to ensure current knowledge in the profession.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as specified by supervisor.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and drug free environment.
  • Implements Performance Improvement measures in appropriate areas.
  • Willingness to work beyond what is required periodically and travel for continuing education hours.
EDUCATION, SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master’s degree in professional counseling or social work-related field.
  • State Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor.
  • Prior experience working with adults and adolescents in a professional setting.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based treatment interventions for dual diagnosis.
  • Individual applicants from out of state must have a license that is transferable to Wisconsin.
  • Sound judgment and capability to respond to unusual circumstances.
  • Able to deal constructively with conflict.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and direct varied and complex operations.
  • Possessions of valid driver’s license and having regular access to a motor vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage.
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to get along well with diverse personalities (patients, physicians, staff, and public).
  • Strong experience treating substance misuse, mental health, and trauma-related issues;
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Must have skills to do groups, family therapy, and individual counseling.
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to the Native American culture and traditions.
  • Prefer at least (3) years of experience in mental health settings as a licensed practicing counselor.
OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTORS:
The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to manipulate objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

Work is performed in an office environment utilizing various office equipment including, but not limited to, a computer, copy machine, fax machine, and multi-line phone. Ability to communicate effectively over the telephone, by computer and in person. Ability to perform well in a fast-paced work environment.
