Our capabilities are constantly expanding and currently include metal stamping, laser cutting, brake forming, tubular stamped components, CNC and Swiss machined parts, wire forms, thread rolling, weldments, and integrated assemblies. Our modern facility includes a complete in-house tool and die department and fastener distributorship.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Cutting Laser Set-up/Operator will be responsible for the daily setup and operation of a metal cutting laser in a fabrication shop environment. He/she may be required to assist other operators as a helper on key work or machines as required; including housekeeping, maintenance work and material staging.  Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

1st shift: Monday through Friday 7am-3pm
2nd Shift: Monday through Thursday 3pm-1am


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES
  • Perform daily machine startup and shutdown procedures on CNC cutting equipment
  • Stage raw material at work-center for the day’s production
  • Load and unload machines
  • Maintain daily dust collector services and associated logbook in assigned area and report equipment deficiencies
  • Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of cutting equipment and work area in accordance to standards and manufactures machine recommendations
  • Perform some machine alignment procedures and optic cleaning to keep equipment at peak operating performance
  • Monitoring assist and resonator gas levels and recommend supply requirements for daily production
  • Select the correct machine cutting parameters for the job task with setup documents or supervisor/lead assistance
  • Load, install and correctly set up the machine cutting parameters required with some assistance from supervisor/lead
  • Able to troubleshoot metal cutting problems
  • Make routine decisions and use problem solving to resolve basic manufacturing issues or seek assistance
  • Adopt and incorporate quality methods into their work
  • Perform assigned work to time standards and quality expectations
  • Account for time and work completed via a labor reporting system
  • Safely operate a forklift to handle materials and completed work
  • Ability to work independently
  • Positive and Strong work ethic
  • Report and document basic material, production and quality control issues
  • Maintain performance log books on assigned area equipment, report deficiencies to the maintenance group
  • Participate in equipment maintenance at the operator level

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Working experience on multiple brands of CNC machines such as Amada is highly preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of metal fabrication including set up
  • Competent at basic dimensional measuring and the use of precision measurement tools
  • Basic ability to read and understand blueprints and other shop drawing aids
  • Ability to work with various types of metal forming constraints with guidance
  • Flexible and responsive with a strong teamwork orientation
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Desire to learn new skills and improve technical knowledge
  • Strong orientation toward quality, safety and continuous improvement
  • Ability to work well in a fast paced environment to meet team expectations

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma/GED equivalent required, one or more years experience operating metal cutting lasers and/or CNC cutting machines.
