Mount Mary College is currently seeking an individual to contribute to the realization of building a best in class Institute for leadership development through the role of Senior Director of Leadership Programs. The Senior Director is responsible for conceptualizing, developing, implementing and managing programs, workshops, courses and projects for the Women’s Leadership Institute. The Senior Director reports to the Executive Director of the Women’s Leadership Institute and works across the college with Faculty and Administration and in the community with strategic partners in program design and focus. The Senior Director will provide program supervision to team staff (Program Manager, Program assistants) and interns.
Duties and Responsibilities

Design and Launch Leadership Development Programs. Develop and manage multi-level leadership development programs that support the overall Institute’s strategy/vision and meet the needs of the college and external stakeholders (i.e. business, non-profit). Work effectively with other administrative leaders and faculty to promote and advance a strong leadership development program that will serve as a resource to the campus community and external community. Work closely with Program Manager to develop effective marketing, promotions and PR approach/materials to help build awareness, engagement and affinity for the WLI.

Identify current/future issues and leadership development needs. Communicate and collaborate with faculty, administrators, students, corporate partners, community leaders and other stakeholders concerning leadership programming to enhance or design programs to address those needs.

Coordinates and maintains standards of excellence for programs. Identify potential partners and pursues opportunities for academic connections (i.e., presentations at seminars) to create and deliver workshops, certificate programs and seminars. Work with the Development Office to initiative and manage grants and other resources to ensure that projects reflect high performance standards and bring meaningful impact for funders and participants.

Maintain a working knowledge of issues most relevant to the promotion of women’s leadership. Work with the Office of Institutional Research to develop white papers, research summaries, etc. Identify and work the Program Manager to implement ways to share findings and promote learning via the web, email, newsletter and social media.

Demonstrate program value. Measure and evaluate program outcomes and goals, and recommend appropriate follow up and communicate appropriately with key stakeholders/funders. Monitors program budgets, including those covering the program staff.

Represent WLI at meetings and conferences with government officials, the nonprofit community, and private sector. Convene and/or attend meetings and events with alumnae, friends, corporate and community partners who are in a position to support the College as a volunteer or donor.

Minimum Qualifications:

Demonstrated interest and substantive knowledge of women’s issues locally and nationally.

Masters Degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience in leadership education or related field or Bachelors Degree with at least 5+ years of relevant experience.

Demonstrated commitment to multi-disciplinary approaches to leadership education and familiarity with established leadership theories and developmental models.

Experience that clearly demonstrates the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students.

Strong communications skills, both oral and written, as well as ease with technology to deliver services and strengthen program implementation.

Ability to make presentations and public speeches and to clearly deliver information that responds directly to audiences. Sensitivity and respect for differing views and a commitment to advancing women’s lives in their political, economic, and social worlds at home and in partnership with other women leaders.

Clearly demonstrated intercultural skills and abilities to manage others in different cultural settings with men and women of varying ages and ethnic backgrounds.
