Position Description

Media Services Coordinator                                                                                           May 22, 2014
Mount Mary University is currently seeking individuals to contribute to the realization of our mission through the role of full-time, Information Media Services Coordinator.  At times the Coordinator must be available to work evening and week-end hours.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administers, troubleshoots and documents issues arising from classroom integrated computer/audio visual set-ups. Escalates issues to technicians as necessary. Coordinates classroom set-ups for recording sessions, videoconferencing sessions and presentations.
Manages and is responsible for media equipment and services in conference rooms and dining halls.
Communicates with instructors and conference planners to schedule and arrange for necessary media equipment and services.
Supervises and participates in operating equipment during recording sessions.
Selects, schedules, trains and supervises student workers.
Prepares, updates and maintains departmental records including, but not limited to, equipment inventory, services needed for roster of events, student schedule etc.
Maintains and troubleshoots media equipment and makes recommendations to the Client Support Coordinator regarding replacement.  Works with Audio/Visual contractors as necessary to arrange for equipment repair and maintenance.
Provides training on the use of audiovisual equipment and makes recommendations on equipment and presentation requirements. Prepare IT training material and conducts short tutorials targeted at students and employees.
Assists the Client Support Coordinator in consulting with vendors on design and acquisitions of audiovisual equipment.
Assists various departments across campus with student/employee orientation.
Keeps abreast of changing media technology.
Is available nights and weekends as needed for scheduled events.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Client Support Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Associate's Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred; proven proficiency in PC hardware, software and audiovisual equipment; experience in higher education or an enterprise environment is preferred.
