Instructor, Education Department – Early Childhood/Elementary
Mount Mary College, Wisconsin’s oldest Catholic college for women, is seeking an individual to contribute the realization of our mission through the role of a full-time, non-tenure track Instructor of Education, Early Childhood/Elementary beginning in fall 2013. Appointment to faculty rank will be determined based on individual qualifications.
DUTIES: Teach undergraduate/graduate courses in early childhood education, reading and language arts, developmental psychology and/or learning theory; supervise students in the field; develop and maintain relationships with urban and suburban schools and agencies; advise undergraduate and post baccalaureate students; serve on department and College committees; and demonstrate professional involvement in the field.
QUALIFICATIONS: Masters degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D. preferred) in early childhood education, curriculum and instruction, or related field; extensive knowledge of theories and practice of early childhood education including standards and curriculum, early literacy development, reading/language arts, child development and/or learning theory; at least three years early childhood/elementary teaching experience; supervisory experience; competence in technology as a tool in education; experience teaching adult learners.
