Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations
Mount Mary College, Wisconsin’s oldest Catholic college for women is seeking an individual to contribute the realization of our mission through the role of Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations. The director will develop, direct and execute a comprehensive, long-range corporate and foundation advancement program in concert with other programs in the advancement department. The director is responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship support of corporate and foundation prospects including national foundations. The director also recommends and coordinates college contacts with corporations and foundations, and works with alumnae, parents, administrators, faculty, staff and volunteers to cultivate and solicit the College’s corporate and foundation prospects. The director will supervise the grant writer and grant process and report to the Senior Director.
Design and implement a strategic annual plan for the corporate and foundation Relations program, to help establish and reach or exceed goals. Collaborate closely with other advancement team members to ensure coordinated cultivation and solicitation of corporate and foundation prospects for a prioritized series of needs.
In collaboration with the grant writer, develop and manage corporate and foundation stewardship program aimed at maintaining and enhancing donor relationships. This includes, but is not limited to, overseeing the submission of timely reports and renewal proposals.
Establish broad-based relationships with funding agencies, leveraging trustee, alumnae, faculty, staff, and parent contacts.
Develop and record prospect strategies, and ensure implementation of necessary actions and activities to meet those strategic goals. Coordinate the development of briefing materials and proposals for meetings and solicitations. Recommend and help plan visits by Board of Trustees, the President, vice-president(s) and other key fundraisers. Recommend best approach and pairing of College representatives. Accompany leaders on visits as appropriate; ensure steps identified from visits are followed up.
Monitor departmental progress against established goals, prioritize departmental initiatives and ensure that department activity is closely coordinated with other division activity.
Develop and implement an effective communications plan to promote the College’s interest in building relationships with corporations and foundations. The plan will complement and leverage the overall development department communications plan.
Five to seven years successful experience in corporate and foundation giving and stewardship
Three to five years demonstrated success in grant writing and reporting.
Demonstrated knowledge of development practices and principles and a track record of success in managing donor relationships
Ability to successfully maintain and develop new relationships within the corporate communities
Management experience in a Advancement office preferred
Excellent interpersonal, writing, planning and organizational skills
Knowledge of public and private funding opportunities
Knowledge of and ability to utilize donor software
Flexibility to travel, occasional weekend and evening work
