The position of Admission Counselor is an integral part of Mount Mary College’s enrollment team, which requires an enthusiastic, high-energy individual who is determined to see that the college’s enrollment goals are met. The individual must be committed to personal attention and follow up with prospective students and must be adept at matching prospective students’ needs with Mount Mary College offerings. The Admission Counselor identifies and counsels new students, regarding the MMC curriculum, major and degree requirements, transfer coursework, preliminary course selection, financial aid, extracurricular opportunities, student services and other pertinent aspects of being a MMC student.
Responsibilities:

In conjunction with overall enrollment goals develop an action plan to achieve territory (target population) goals; assume primary responsibility for meeting or exceeding those goals; assess results and make recommendations. Recruit and enroll students from the inquiry stage through to matriculation.

Review application credentials for students from your territory and make an admission decision. When appropriate, make admission recommendations to the admission committee.

Represent Mount Mary College at select off site events such as college fairs and corporate events and on-campus functions. Ability to travel, including overnight for multiple nights at a time, is required and expected.

Coordinate recruitment related events as assigned, including the coordination of events related to enrollment of accepted students.

Coordinate and advise all Youth Options students

Maintain applicant files as a part of the admission review process.

Conduct on-campus interviews.

Maintain comprehensive records tracking interactions with prospective students as well as actions taken on a prospective student’s application.

Educate accepted students on the financial aid process, the college’s financial aid philosophy and offerings and the specifics of their individual aid award.

Facilitate special student class registration.

Co-coordinate the admission office related responsibilities for new student registrations.

Perform additional duties as assigned.
Territory: Undergraduate first year students in the state of Wisconsin, special students, home school students and HSED students.
Qualifications: Bachelors degree required. Experience working with and meeting the needs of high school students; Self-motivated and well organized; Ability to work independently and in a team; Excellent interpersonal skills to develop strong professional relationships with students, parents, faculty, staff, and external organizations.
