The Promise Plus Project is a one-year, grant-funded retention initiative that serves first-generation, low-income students and students of color at Mount Mary College. The Promise Plus Project will supplement the existing academic support services provided by the Promise Program, a TRIO Student Support Services program. Aimed precisely at issues that cause students from disadvantaged populations to withdraw from college, the Promise Plus Project will provide financial, social/cultural, career development and high impact services. Promise Plus Project participants will receive resources necessary to mitigate the non-academic challenges disadvantaged students face, increasing the likelihood that they will remain in college and obtain a degree. Promise Plus Project Administrative Assistant
Position Status:
Part time (50%) – This is a one-year grant that operates September 1, 2012-August 31, 2013. Continuation of this position beyond the initial 12 months is contingent upon further grant funding.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and/or minimum 5 years professional experience, preferably in a customer service-oriented environment

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office software

Experience tracking, analyzing and reporting program data

Database administration experience preferred
Responsibilities:

Serve as primary customer service representative for the Project; greet Promise Plus participants and other office visitors, schedule appointments, manage staff calendars

Communicate with Promise Plus participants in person or via telephone or email

Handle recordkeeping activities for the Project, including student participation tracking and program budget management

Collect data for statistical reports as needed by processing reports in Jenzabar or internal Project databases

Assist with analysis of student performance and participation levels in order to evaluate program effectiveness

Assist in creation of bi-annual grant reports

Assist with the coordination and promotion of participant meetings and events

Assist with arranging guest speakers, service contracts, and community partnerships

Update and maintain various Project documents

Order office supplies and maintain inventory

Other duties as assigned
