Position Description

Adjunct Position 1:
Fundamentals of Motion Graphics
Course Description: Introduces basic motion graphics and production. Includes artistic issues of video development, story boarding and story development. Technical issues such as lighting, digital photos, audio and variety of software and hardware explored.
For teaching content, applicants should have expertise in:
  • Flash, iMovie, Dreamweaver, CS6 or higher
  • Web animation and applications
  • Digital design focus with camera work, lighting, voice over, music integration, etc
  • Provides fundamental skills, program knowledge and presentation formatting
 
Adjunct Position 2:
Technology Principles: Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
Course Description: Techniques in photo manipulation, retouching and illustration. Creation of photography and/or illustrations, dynamic collages, raster- and vector-based images. Explores photographic editing techniques, scanning, color formatting and exporting for print or multimedia. Strong foundation in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
For teaching content, applicants should have expertise in:
  • Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign, CS6 or higher
  • Knowledgeable in digital application and advanced formats
  • Ability to navigate the flexibility of using multiple programs within one project
  • Provides fundamental skills, program knowledge and presentation formatting
 
Qualifications:
 
  • MFA in Graphic Design preferred, Masters and/or extensive industry experience may be considered
  • Previous teaching experience preferred.
  • Evidence of professional industry experience required.
  • Ability to teach the design process from start to finish with college level students
  • Ability to challenge students in critical and creative thinking for form and content
  • Ability to advance students’ communication skills through course format
  • CSS and HTML knowledge, in addition to course soft/hardware needs
