Position Description

Mount Mary College is seeking an individual to contribute to the realization of our mission through the role of Media Assistant.  This is a part time position 15-19 hours/week. Hours might include evenings and weekends.
 
Responsibilities:
 
Confer with faculty, staff and students regarding the scheduling of media equipment for classrooms, workshops, or presentations. Maintain Schedule Book. Advise the supervisor of schedule conflicts and/or problems.
 
Prepare equipment for use and arrange for prompt delivery, setup, and prompt pick-up at times specified. Assist instructors and students in the proper use of equipment, and troubleshooting when needed
 
Assist in minor repairs and configuration of equipment.  Refer need for major equipment repairs or maintenance to the supervisor. Routinely check equipment in classrooms, halls and in the office. Keep equipment labeled, charged, and in its proper location. Keep track of equipment used for check-out using proper software.
 
Be responsible for tape duplication and videotaping in the classrooms, for presentations or campus events.
 
Maintain records of equipment use, location etc. Maintain an inventory. Answer the phone and assist “walk-in” clients to the Information Technology Department.
 
Qualifications:  Should have previous experience with, or be willing to learn, the operation of digital  photo and video cameras, dv camcorders, digital projectors, sound equipment, photo processing software such as Adobe Photoshop and PowerPoint; possess general proficiency with iMovie or similar video editing software, Microsoft Office software and computer hardware. Prior experience with Extron equipment is an advantage. The position requires basic clerical skills and excellent interpersonal/communication skills. The individual should have a personable manner, be comfortable in dealing with students, faculty and the general public, take initiative and be able to work well without close supervision, multi-task and work within deadlines.
