Mount Mary College is seeking an individual to contribute to the realization of our mission through the role of Library Director.
SUMMARY: The Library Director reports directly to the VP for Academic and Student Affairs and is responsible for providing leadership and administrative direction for all library programs, operations and services necessary to support the College's missions.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Promote the development of library policy, collections and services, with due regard for academic and professional standards and the general welfare of the College, according to the mission statement of the College.

Engage the Library users in, and direct the Library toward, the integration of a full range of automation and information technology services.

To maintain statistics of growth, services and long-range plans and goals.

Determine and administer the library budget.

Supervise the Library staff and promote their continued professional growth.

Participate in public service and professional organizations to further knowledge and abilities as well as to increase the visibility of the library and the College.

To promote cooperative exchanges and enterprises where possible and beneficial to the College.

To represent the College and the Library with other related institutional and professional organizations.

Share reference duties and work every third Sunday.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to engage users in a full range of automation and information technology.

Ability to direct and support personnel in the accomplishment of their service mission.

Ability to plan and organize library goals and objectives.

Ability to manage the overall library operations
QUALIFICATIONS:

A Master's degree from an ALA-accredited institution.

A second Master's degree in an academic field desirable.
-
A minimum of five years of progressively responsible administrative experience in an academic library.

A strong proven commitment to public service and professional involvement.
