The Director of Alumnae Relations is responsible for engaging alumnae to strengthen relationships to the University to ultimately help advance the mission.
Serving as an ambassador, the Director of Alumnae Relations is charged leading and supporting the Alumnae Association and it’s volunteers in achieving mutually beneficial goals. The Director serves as a liaison between the Alumnae Association Board of Directors and the academic and administrative leadership of the University.
The Director of Alumnae Relations reports to the Vice President of Development and is a senior member of the Development team.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
In collaboration with the Director of Annual Giving, develop action plans to expand the percent of alumnae participation in the annual fund drive.
Cultivate relationships to refer to/and work with Major Gift Officers & Director of Corporate/Foundations to secure significant and planned gifts.
Work closely with the Alumnae Association Board of Directors to maintain a vibrant volunteer organization including recruiting members and volunteer leaders, monitoring bylaws and fiscal stability, and motivating them to success.
Manage the support of the Alumnae Office for the Alumnae Association Starving Artists’ Show and all other Association campus activities;
Plan, implement and promote alumnae programs that support the University’s strategic plan as well as the goals of the Campaign in collaboration with colleagues within Development;
Ensure accurate and complete alumnae database records; capture contact, biographical and career information of alumnae via surveys, projects (e.g. alumni directory), correspondence, website, postal returns, etc.;
Establish and build relationships on behalf of the University with a wide range of alumnae, locally, regionally, nationally and internationally; maintain regular communication with alumnae via direct contact, email blasts, alumnae web pages, and print publications;
Educate graduating students about alumnae benefits and engage them in programs and the Association;
Oversee and balance the budget for Alumnae Relations;
Collaborate closely with University communications team to develop brand story appropriate constituent communications;
Raise funds for select special projects and coordinate events in collaboration with Development colleagues;
Supervise the alumnae team, student workers(p/t) and provide guidance to alumnae volunteers.

The demonstrated ability to strategize, implement and build constituency programs and activities, along with a talent for motivating volunteers
Demonstrably strong writing, planning and organizational skills
Flexibility and initiative, as well as the ability to work independently, combined with the skills for thriving in a team environment to achieve institutional goals
High professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information
Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines
Extensive experience with Jenzabar and Infomaker Reports
Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed
Bachelor's degree
